Florence Wine Event September 2009

Details are out for this years edition of the "Florence Wine Event", one of my favorite tastings of the year. The event is spread out in the Oltrano at the Piazza Pitti, Piazza Santo Spirito, Piazza della Passera, and Piazza Demidoff. The dates this year are September 25 to 27th (25 is Friday evening only). You buy a glass for about &euro10, and you get a punch card for 10 tastes. Of course, this is Italy - a lot of the producers don't punch your card, or let you taste several of their wines for 1 punch, etc. The fee is basically to cover broken glasses and to keep people from drinking too much.
